As a psychotherapist, the scope of my practice includes individuals, families, couples and groups. The focus of treatment may include improving self-image, reducing negative self-talk, overcoming trauma and difficult life experiences. I also work with clients to improve relationships, and resolving issues related to trauma, stress, and life transitions.
  • I am a certified EMDR therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and an EMDR consultant in training.
  • Treatment is customized to work with each individual's issue that they present. I also utilize traditional talk therapy.

What is EMDR?

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment  of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. In 1978, psychologist Dr. Francine Shapiro made the chance observation that  eye movements can reduce the intensity of disturbing thoughts, under certain conditions. Since then, EMDR has developed and evolved through the contributions of therapists and researchers all over the world.
